MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The case against Sergio Domingo (19), the man accused of the murder of a 13-year-old boy last December, recently continued in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court last week.
During Domingo's appearance on Thursday 30 July, the case was officially moved to the Mossel Bay Regional Court for the trial preparations to begin.
The victim, who was a former learner of Diaz Primary School and whose grandmother has asked that his name not be mentioned, was found dead in the early hours of 26 December behind a residence in Kiewiet Street, D’Almeida, with a fatal stab wound to the chest.
According to a spokesperson for the Southern Cape Police, Warrant Officer Chris Spies, the child had been killed the night before on Christmas Day.
“It is believed that the victim sustained the injury during an altercation at a residence on the night of the incident,” said Spies at the time.
Domingo was arrested by the Da Gamaskop Police shortly after the victim’s body was discovered. He was later denied bail and has remained in police custody since his arrest.
The matter will continue in the Mossel Bay Regional Court on 17 September.
