Local vet, Dr Frans de Graaff, took care of the owl at his practice in Hartenbos. The owl was still fine and eating last week, but died during Sunday night, 10 July.

MOSSEL BAY NEWS -  The barn owl that was saved by a family from Little Brak River when it was entangled in barbed wire fencing, has died.

The owl was rescued by Hellen Engelbrecht and her brother, Michael van Schalkwyk, on Wednesday 29 June, while he was taking photographs in the area.

Local vet, Dr Frans de Graaff, took care of the owl at his practice in Hartenbos.

The owl was still fine and eating last week, but died during Sunday night, 10 July.

The reason for its death is not known.
