MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay's annual "Oscar Awards" took place on Saturday, 18 November.

These are awards held by Gemini Model and Talent Agency to reward the models and actors signed with the agency who have done well during the year.

The most significant achievement this year was the large number of roles the actors had in the Ouma Sarie comedy television series. The actors also had parts in TV commercials.

Among the models, awards were given for best junior and senior models, the most photogenic models and models showing the most progress, among other awards.

Mossel Bay mayor Dirk Kotzé was the honorary guest at the awards, which were held at the Santos Express conference venue at Santos Beach.

It was a grand occasion, with women wearing formal ballgowns and cocktail dresses.

Gemini Model and Talent Agency owner Frieda van der Walt (back, centre, in white) is next to Dirk Kotzé. With them are some of the "Oscar" winners.
