Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Fire crews remain fully deployed and will be taking advantage of the cooler weather conditions and reduced wind intensity today to further secure the fire line.
The first briefing of the day was held at the Joint Operations Centre in Mossel Bay at 07:00 this morning.
This was followed by a briefing to the Western Cape Minister of Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning, Anton Bredell.
The Minister joined the JOC meeting this morning, along with Garden Route District Municipality (GRDM) Mayor Memory Booysen, GRDM MMC for Community Services, Marais Kruger, and Hessequa Executive Mayor Grant Riddles.
The Mossel Bay Muncipality says all available water sources will be utilised to establish a wet line of several metres around the fire perimeter.
