MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Municipality's portfolio chairperson for Finance, Alderman Mark Furness, and a co-accused Marie Francis made their third appearance in the George Magistrate's Court today, Wednesday 12 March.
Following a postponement on Friday, 7 March, due to the docket not being at court, the case was postponed again today for plea negotiations to take place on 23 April.
The charges against them are tax related and involve the business, Bardins Jewellers. Furness and Francis have 75% and 25% interest in Bardins respectively.
They are facing 14 counts of tax-related offences.
