Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - During a recent appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate’s Court, Phumlani Mtshambela (37), accused of attempted murder, decided to abandon his bail application.
The KwaNonqaba Police arrested Mtshambela on 21 February in connection with a house fire in Stuurman Street, Asla Park, that had taken place a few days before.
According to Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp, the KwaNonqaba Police’s spokesperson, Mtshambela had allegedly approached the house that had five people inside at the time, poured some petrol out over it and set it alight.
One woman was injured, but has since recovered.
Mtshambela will remain in police custody until his next court appearance on 10 April.
