MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay line dancing group, Step to Step, is competing in the American Dance Awards (ADA) regional South African championships, which take place from 23 to 28 September in Centurion.
If they are successful in these, they will progress to the finals, which will be held in Providence, Rhode Island, in the United States in July 2025.
Instructor
The instructor of the group, Marlé Bruyns, who is also competing, said: "We are practising extremely hard and really want to make it to the final in the States."
Judges will come from the States to adjudicate the competition in Centurion in September.
Practise
The dancers practise at Bakgat bar and dance venue in Voorbaai on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 18:00 to 20:00.
Raise funds
On Wednesday, 28 August, from 18:00 to 24:00, there will be a line dancing and langarm dancing event for the public at Bakgat to raise funds for the Step to Step group's aeroplane tickets.
