MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - The Mossel Bay Municipality confirms that work started this morning, 4 September, on the joining of the Hartenbos River Estuary to the sea.
The municipality will continue to monitor the oxygen levels and Ph levels of the water for the next few days.
Work has also commenced on removing the dead fish from the banks of the river.
Oxygen levels are still low and further, yet notably fewer, deaths may therefore still occur.
The possibility of an algae bloom is, among others, being investigated as a possible reason for the current problem.
