SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - The Forum of Community Journalists (FCJ) is honouring community journalists and newspapers across South Africa at the annual FCJ Excellence Awards this evening (Friday 20 July).
These journalists and newspapers are being recognised for work published during 2018.
The prestigious awards ceremony and gala dinner is taking place at the Leriba Hotel and Spa in Centurion.
Group Editors excelled at this year's event. The achievers are:
Michelle Pienaar, George Herald: Journalist of the Year and 3rd place in the General Photography category.
Kristy Kolberg, George Herald: Newcomer of the Year (journalist) and 2nd place in the Digital Reporting category.
Hugo Redelinghuys, George Herald: 2nd place in the sport writing category.
George Herald: 2nd place in the corporate owned paid newspapers category.
South Cape Forum: 3rd place in the best front pages category (corporate paid newspapers).
Idinga: Award for best front page in the free corporate owned newspaper category.
