MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Audrey and Bob Brookes, married in North Wales in the United Kingdom, recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
In 1975 they emigrated to Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng, where they raised four children.
They retired in Dana Bay in 2007.
Their son, Bryan, came from North Wales and other family members including their bridesmaid came for a surprise visit.
Their daughter Joanne from New Zealand and their grandson from Pretoria made their celebrations complete with friends at a local restaurant, where the chef cooked the same meal they had 50 years ago.
