Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - In a statement issued at 09:00 today, Mossel Bay Municipality noted:
"Heavy rain has been reported in the catchment area of the Mossel Bay municipal area.
"Mossel Bay Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management Services are monitoring the situation and updates will be provided on road closures and inaccessible areas.
"Several rivers are in flood in areas such as Great Brak, Leeukloof and the Kouma River, Ruiterbos, is also in flood. Road closures are imminent on the Geelbeksvlei Road and the access road to Leeukloof."
Mossel Bay Advertiser was informed by a farmer in the Ruiterbos area, who provided a video and photograph, that on the Haelkraal Road the low water bridge over the Kouma River is flooded and inaccessible.
Municipal spokesperson, Cornelle Carstens, advised: "Motorists are urged to travel with caution and to consider taking alternative routes."
