Caravan park flooded

MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO'S - Pine Creek Caravan Park on the Great Brak River, outside Mossel Bay, is flooded.

Photographs of the high water were posted on a social media site.

Mossel Bay Advertiser contacted the caravan park and Shaun Imbrailo, on duty at the park this weekend, said: "There is slight flooding. It is nothing compared with what we have had before.

"The water is coming from the Wolwedans Dam. which is overflowing."It looks like the water is rising slowly. The river mouth is open. It is low tide at 12:00 and the river will empty."

Imbrailo said emergency services had been called to assist at the park.

Mossel Bay Advertiser contacted municipal spokesperson Cornelle Carstens for comment on any flooding and damage caused by rains inland and she said she was preparing a media statement to be released soon.
