MOSSEL BAY NEWS - An exhibition to honour Mossel Bay artist Bert du Plooy, who passed away on 10 January this year, will be held in Boggomsbaai, on 20 March.
The exhibition will feature some of Du Plooy's works, as well as the works of three Mossel Bay hobby artists.
The exhibition is titled, Bert du Plooy - A tribute. Artist, philanthropist, enigma.
Du Plooy was an accomplished fine artist and a teacher at CLAYworx art school located at the Blue Shed coffee roastery in Bland Street, Mossel Bay. Du Plooy founded the art school together with local businessman Albert Wiffen, in 2018.
Elaine Schraader, who was a colleague of Du Plooy, is representing his art at the exhibition, which takes place at Boggomsbaai's Sandpiper Leisure Centre from 17:30 on 20 March.
The three hobby artists who will show their works are Zelda Vorster, Hester Rabie and an artist who goes by the name, Tané.
There will be finger snacks, wine tasting and a cash bar. Tickets are R190 per person. It is essential to RSVP, either to Zelda (081 071 6735) or Fred (082 550 4788).
