MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Heart to Heart Care Centre has started a blanket drive to "provide warmth and comfort" to those in need in the Mossel Bay area.
Heart to Heart is the social responsibility arm of New Life Church in Heiderand, Mossel Bay.
A spokesperson for Heart to Heart noted that temperatures had dropped and the wind had become chilly.
"It’s easy to forget that not everyone has the luxury of a warm home and cosy blankets to curl up in. In response to this pressing need, Heart to Heart Care Centre has launched a blanket drive."
New, gently used
The initiative aims to collect new and gently used blankets to distribute to individuals and families in need.
The Heart to Heart Care Centre has served the community for 25 years, providing essential support and resources to those in need.
It is asking Mossel Bay residents to look through their cupboards for blankets that are in a good condition, but are no longer needed. "Every donation, big or small, makes a meaningful impact," the spokesperson said.
Collection box
You can drop off new or gently used blankets at the designated collection box between 08:00 and 16:00 from Tuesday to Friday or on Sundays between 08:00 and 11:30.
The address is New Life Church, Mossel Bay, 68 Apiesdoring Street, Heiderand.
The last day to drop off blankets is 19 May.
If you're unable to donate a blanket, Heart to Heart will welcome monetary contributions to help purchase the blankets.
