MOSSEL BAY NEWS & VIDEO - At a loss for what to do on Mandela Day? You can head down to the SPCA now and have great fun, spending your 67 Mandela Day minutes cuddling doggies in the kennels.
You can volunteer to be locked up or your colleagues can "arrest" you and take you to be locked up.
They will have to pay money to "bail" you out of the doggie kennel jail and this money goes to the worthy cause of the care of the animals at the SPCA. Make sure you have cash and pet food with you.
The minimum bail is only R300 - an extremely small amount compared with what people usually have to pay to get out of jail.
The Mossel Bay Advertiser was at the SPCA in Bill Jeffrey Road, KwaNonqaba, today. There was a wonderful, fun atmosphere, music was playing and people from a variety of businesses in Mossel Bay had been locked up. SPCA staffer Jolandi Esterhuizen was talking to the "prisoners" with a loud hailer and negotiating their release.
The quote of the day was by Annie Reis, who said: “I kissed a dog and I liked it!”
