Update
MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The four teenagers who allegedly attacked a Da Gamaskop Police Station constable with an axe on 25 May, appeared in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court for a bail application yesterday, Tuesday 3 June.
The bail application was postponed to tomorrow, Thursday 5 June, for further investigation.
The attack, which took place in Dalindyebo Street in Mossel Bay just before 02:00, left the officer (30) with a life-threatening injury to his neck. He was rushed to hospital that morning and underwent emergency surgery.
All four teenagers, aged 16 to 19, were arrested on the day of the attack, following an intensive investigation by Da Gamaskop detectives.
The four are facing charges of attempted murder.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies said the constable had been discharged from hospital and was recovering at home.
