KWANONQABA NEWS - A man who was arrested for the rape and kidnapping of a 40-year-old KwaNonqaba woman two weeks ago, made a brief appearance in the Mossel Bay Magistrate's Court on Monday, 9 September.
KwaNonqaba Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp previously told Mossel Bay Advertiser the woman had been forced from her home at gunpoint in the early hours of 25 August by a man.
The accused then allegedly drove her around Mossel Bay for several hours before taking her to a house in Elangeni, KwaNonqaba, and raping her.
Kapp said a case of rape and kidnapping had been opened and was being investigated by the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Mossel Bay.
The man was arrested on 26 August, the day after the incident. He is expected to appear in court on Friday, 13 September, for a formal bail application.
