MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Advertiser enquired to the Mossel Bay Municipality regarding the soft, cotton-like substance that has fallen in Mossel Bay, because the municipality has an environmental section.
A municipal spokesperson said: “Mossel Bay Municipality cannot confirm exactly what it is, but it should not be of concern. It is most likely spider web.”
On social media, Mossel Bay residents said the substance was seen in the air and not all of it landed on the ground.
One member of the public mentioned to the Mossel Bay Advertiser that people had seen black dots on the white substance and thought they were eggs on spiders' webs.
