MOSSEL BAY NEWS - On Monday, 5 July a carbonised, grey Ford Mustang Mach 1 drove down the ramp of a local dealership in Mossel Bay and made history as the first super car of its kind to be sold in the region.
Donovan Moodley, a businessman from Durban spoke to Mossel Bay Advertiser on the day he collected his vehicle at the dealership.
According to Moodley, he saw a Mach 1 in Durban, but was second in a row for the deal. After he missed out on buying the vehicle, Moodley searched for a Mach 1 and located one in Mossel Bay.
Taking a trip down to his other office in Cape Town, he picked up his brand new Mach 1 in Mossel Bay. He said that on the long trip from Mossel Bay to Cape Town and back to Durban, he would be able to familiarise himself with the vehicle. "There are only 15 six-speed vehicles and this is one of them," said Moodley.

The new Mach 1 boasts a 5.0l V8 engine with a power output of 338kW. There is a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic.
The 5.0-litre V8 pumps out 480 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. The Mach 1 can reach a top speed of 276km/h versus the 2021 Ford Mustang GT, with a 249km/h top speed. 0-100km/h in 4,4 seconds.
The fastest Mustang on record is the 2013 Shelby 1000, a barely street-legal super car with astonishing power and only one purpose, speed. The supercharged V8 can reach 354km/h.
