MOSSEL BAY NEWS - NSRI Mossel Bay station commander, André Fraser, congratulates and welcomes Station 15's newly-qualified Class IV coxswains, Johan Ehlers (jnr) and Shawn Thomson.
NSRI Mossel Bay continuously trains crew and coxswains to the highest standards in preparing them to operate in the most strenuous and challenging situations they might encounter during an emergency operation, Fraser says.
This was also the case with Ehlers and Thomson, who were put through their paces over the past ten months and assessed by NSRI head office as competent to serve as coxswains on a Class IV rescue boat.
"We also need to mention and thank all of the station training coxswains for the time and effort they spend teaching and training our crew and coxswains.
"This is so easily overlooked; 10 months of personal time of about eight people to ready two coxswains to serve the community is certainly a major sacrifice for the good of Mossel Bay users of the sea," says Fraser.
In any sea-related emergency, call the local NSRI (082 990 5954).
