The first little baby had Mossel Bay hospital staff busy from fairly early, as he was born at 07:00 to proud parents Ratdzay Chatyoka and Darlington Magomo. He measured 51cm and weighed 3kg at birth.
Next, at 13:10, was a baby born to proud parents Leonie Kiewiet and Christian Claasen. This baby was the tallest of the New Year's day crop at 52.5cm, and weighed in at 3.23kg.
At 17:10 the third baby for the day was born to proud parents Dorothy Louw and Alan Campbell. At 52cm, this little one weighed only 2.59kg.
Born premature, the last New Year's baby was a tiny 48cm and weighed only 2.54kg. Proud parents Ziyanda Manyifolo and Mziyanda Mabongo had to wait until 21:04 for her arrival.
