MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Mossel Bay Surf Lifesaving Club (MBSLC) won five gold and six silver medals at the Plett Nippers' Carnival.
Eleven Nippers from the club attended the carnival.
The club's Chané Reinecke achieved overall third place among all the U12 girls at the carnival.
She scooped three gold and two silver medals. One of the silvers was for the gruelling Iron Nipper contest, which includes a 60m Beach Sprint, 60m Surf Swim and 60m Board Race.
Six clubs attended the carnival: Plett Surf; Port Elizabeth clubs Kings Beach, Hobie and Seagulls; East London; and MBSLC.
MBSLC achieved fourth place. Plett Surf, Kings Beach and East London came first, second and third respectively.

Boys U11: Noah Gross, gold - Beach Run (1km)
Boys U11: Marko Roodt, silver - Beach Sprints
Boys U12: Gerbrandt van der Merwe, silver - Beach Run (1.2km)
The carnival took place earlier this month.
