MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Due to the adapted Covid-19 alert level 4 lockdown, the events planned by the Mossel Bay Older Persons' Forum (MBOPF) have been postponed.
Following President Cyril Ramaphosa's announcement on Sunday night, during which mention was made of restrictions pertaining to older persons, it was deemed necessary to postpone the roll-out of the events focusing on better service delivery to the elderly, to September.
"We thought it wise to wait for flu season to pass. Also, we are amid a rise in Covid-19 infections. We have to focus on keeping the elderly healthy," says Alma Kritzinger from the Mossel Bay Municipality's office dealing with senior citizens.
She emphasises that, although the event roll-out is on hold, any business, organisation or service provider that can offer assistance to older persons (60 plus), please should contact her.
"We want to compile a database in the meantime, that will be of service to older persons. Interested parties can make contact with me until 16 July."
