MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The Bathandeni Baby Centre, which was started in 2008 by Paulina Tshazbana, is in dire need of help to continue caring for 25 babies.
They care for babies from the ages of one month to three years.
They provide food daily, as well as the nurturing and teaching of social skills. They do all of this with love, patience and respect.
Two ladies assist Paulina with the daily tasks. This centre operates from the backyard of Paulina’s home.
Most of parents that leave their children in Paulina’s care cannot afford the monthly fees, but she does not turn those children away, as all children are important to her.
She would rather take them in and know they are being cared for with love. They do the best they can with what they have.
Paulina has a vision that the baby centre grows into a proper crèche, where she can fully accommodate all the needs of those who entrust their little ones to her.
There is a piece of land available across the road from her establishment, which she would like to buy and build a structure on for the crèche.
This has not yet realised, as circumstances have not allowed for this. Any donations for this would be greatly appreciated.
The current needs for the standing crèche and day to day running are as follows:

- Microwave
- Stove
- Plastic tables and chairs for children
- 3 pots
- Food/vegetables
- Toilet paper
- Cleaning aids
- Urn (for hot water)
- 4 training potties
- 3 dustbins
- Spoons/teaspoons
- Small bowls
- Blankets
- Mattresses for the children to sleep on
- Educational toys
- Nappies
- Linoleum flooring
- White paint 2 x 20Lt PVA
- Changing station
- Cots
All donations can be dropped at the Mossel Bay Advertiser's office at 9 Church Street.
