MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Mossel Bay Municipality has been receiving reports of pufferfish washing up along our coastline. This seems to be happening on beaches from Port Elizabeth to Mossel Bay.
Please keep children and dogs away from any fish you encounter.
There is no indication that the problem is related to a specific pollution event along the coast of Mossel Bay. Please note, however, that due the fish washing up over such a large area it is not possible to remove all immediately.
Beach entrepreneurs contracted by the municipality will clean beaches where possible.
Opblaasvissies op strande
Let asseblief daarop dat Mosselbaai-munisipaliteit berigte ontvang het van talle opblaasvissies wat op strande in die groter Mosselbaai uitgespoel het.
Inwoners word gevra om hul kinders en honde nie by die dooie visse toe te laat nie.
Dit blyk die probleem strek sover as Port Elizabeth en daar is nie enige aanduidings dat 'n besoedelingsprobleem in die Mosselbaai-omgewing daarvoor verantwoordelik is nie.
Omdat die probleem so wydgespreid voorkom, kan dit nie onverwyld verwyder word nie, maar die entrepreneurs sal so gou moontlik die strande opruim.
