MOSSEL BAY NEWS - The community of KwaNonqaba celebrated a huge milestone yesterday, 28 April when one of the community’s matriarchs turned 99 years old.
Noweyitala Sitonga Kanakana was born in 1923 and married Velile Kanakana in 1942. She has seven (7) children , 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren .
Councillor Sibabalo Dubula and other members of the community congregated at the home of Mrs Kanakana yesterday to host a party for her.

She looked regal in her traditional outfit and a festive atmosphere marked the auspicious occasion.
“Beautiful mother and grandmother to other, may God continue to bless you. We wish you all the best if life, God's grace, blessings, long life, prosperity with good health and happiness.
"It's a blessing to be this old and blessed. May God guide us also through the path that He has given you,” said Dudula at the birthday celebration which he helped to host.
