ELECTION NEWS - The Economic Freedom Fighters may have surprised the Western Cape political landscape by ending third overall in the 2019 provincial election.
Although their support now only polled in the single figures (3.98%) Provincial Chairperson Melikhaya Xego said they have fought a hard campaign deliberately focusing on service delivery issues.
"There are so many challenges, we intervened at a local level, we elevated the land issue and fought service delivery issues that have given rise to confidence in the work that we do," Xego said.
He added that their campaigns in the run up to the elections, such as the ID campaign and the Fees must Fall campaign managed to attract many young people to the party.
Many challenges awaits he said as the party readies itself for the local government elections.
