"South African unemployment rate." Where. Does. My. Future. Lie?
In a corrupt system solely motivated by making a profit? In the said "democratic" government that all of a sudden cares more about the "cultural ancestry of land" instead of the upliftment of my youth and instilling a sense of hope in a future we have rights to, a future we were promised.
We've gone from typing, "What degree can help me obtain ## career" to "Jobs South Africans can do outside of South Africa".
Our youth are currently living in a country working against them. What are we doing about this? We are told that education is key, but what is a key without a door to open?
What can a degree do for me if my odds of actually working by the time I've finished schooling are lower than the odds of our unemployment rate decreasing any time soon?
This country tells us we are the future, but we have no hopes of actually obtaining one. What are you doing to help?
Segregation has long passed, and I for one understand that we are still recovering from the after effects but until when?
Until when are we to relive the past and allow arrogance and greed blind our hope of a future?
What example is being set for our youth and what preventative measures are being applied to see we don't follow the same corrupt path?
