Die vermoede bestaan dat 'n persoon sy eie lewe kon geneem het deur van die brug oor die Gouritzrivier te spring. 'n Verlate voertuig is op die brug oor die rivier op die N2 aangetref met omstandighede wat die vermoede laat dat die bestuurder van die voertuig waarskynlik sy of haar eie lewe kon geneem het.
