MOSSEL BAY NEWS - At the beginning of April, 27 sailors from the Skipper Foundation in Mossel Bay participated in the Eden inter-schools regatta at George Lakes Yacht Club.
Six Mossel Bay schools were represented at this event - Sao Bras, Hillcrest, Indwe and Point high schools and Park and Milkwood primary schools.
Skipper Foundation head Elfie Holden said: "Saturday brought lovely winds. The strong, shifty wind kept the Mossel Bay sailors guessing as they are used to steadier winds." She said it was a strenuous day's sailing for the youngsters.
"They rose early on Sunday morning to try to attempt to sail around the island. Unfortunately they were left stranded as the wind died down. Later in the day some strong gusts came through and the last race was sailed."
