World famous Victoria Bay, with its very consistent right hand point break, was once again the venue and lived up to its reputation on the day of the contest, producing magical waves.
The cream of junior surfing in the Southern Cape were there and ready to show off how the winter season of big, solid swell and competitive surfing had honed their skills and cutting edge technique and turns.
The main aim of the series is to identify and develop young talent and this is already starting to bear fruit in the second season of the series with some very exciting and promising young talent showing up.
Besides serious surfing, there was also lots of fun to be had, especially amongst the U/10s and U/12s in the beach arena.
The contest has also attracted the attention of one of the major surf brands in South Africa and for the remainder of the season, Quiksilver will be co-sponsoring the event. The organisers of the series singled out JustWater and Giant for their continued support of the event.
