MOSSE BAY NEWS - Want to do something fun and crazy?
If you have not sailed a boat before, here is something to put on your bucket list and get done quickly.
The Mossel Bay Sail Challenge is taking place on 21 and 22 September and if you are aged eight to 80, you can take part.
The challenge is part of the Sport and Recreation Festival.
You and go along and sail at no risk of a capsize. The Hansa 303, which will be used in the challenge, is an extremely stable boat with a keel.
"It's true; they can't fall over. No prior experience is needed with these boats," assures Elfie Holden, the organiser of the challenge.
"The pro's will show you the basics and the instructors on the water can help. Everyone is welcome. Also, please challenge your friends and colleagues and sail in our pro-am," Elfie invites.
There will be 15-minute challenge races. The place to meet is Kaai 4 at the commercial slipway at Mossel Bay Harbour. The challenge takes place from 09:00 to 16:00.
