South Western Districts formed part of the original Stormers franchise which was formed in 1998, and after a 10 year absence the union has once again been made official partners in the Stormers franchise.
This partnership will see the two unions working closely together to take the Stormers franchise forward by assisting each other in player development, exchanging coaching and player resources, forging a relationship between the clubs and schools of the WPRFU and SWD Eagles Rugby and using the Stormers brand to promote and grow the game of rugby in the South Western Districts.
President of the WPRFU Thelo Wakefield said that he is looking forward to working with South Western Districts to build the DHL Stormers brand further.
