MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - The Suidkus 4x4 community had an eventful weekend, taking on the Oxwagon trail from Wilderness to Louvain on Saturday, 29 April.
The trail starts with a scenic route, which is any nature lover's dream.

The views are spectacular and the ascent takes you to a beautiful lookout point. The rocks moving under wheel also add a bit of a challenge, to keep things exciting.
After a coffee break the 4x4s descended into Louvain, where the fires were lit before heading into the challenging forest.
The first obstacle was a muddy water crossing, which has an escape route, should you wish to avoid it. A Landcruiser from earlier in the day came to say he struggled, who gave some the inspiration to attempt it. First through was Christo Karsten in his Fortuner.
There was some reversing to get the angle right to get out of the slippery slope, but when he was through, the rest felt inspired. It was no problem as usual for Sias Karsten in his Patrol.
After the mud we headed deeper into the forest. There is a vertical climb, so if you stand at the bottom, you think there is no way anyone will be able to get to the top. Some passengers even got out and walked up, but it was no problem for the Suidkus 4x4 vehicles. Then it was off to the quarry, where all angles were analysed and the vehicles made light work of this obstacle.
The community had a braai and mingle afterwards, where everyone had a laugh and chatted about the day and the next trips.
If you would like to join our community, or if you have places which we can come explore or you just want a buddy to drive with you, contact Sias Karsten (083 300 1063) or Hertzog Theron (076 609 4734).
