MOSSEL BAY SPORT NEWS - The countdown to the Netball World Cup 2023 in Cape Town has begun.
The city of Cape Town is the only venue for all matches of the Cup, taking place in Africa for the first time. The tournament runs from 28 July to 6 August.
Western Cape MEC of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais, received the Cup trophy on Monday, 3 July.
Marais is currently on a tour across the province so that communities will be able to see the trophy.
On Wednesday, 5 July, she will be at the Hartenbos netball courts from 14:00 to engage with the community and show off the trophy.
The proposed programme for the day:
- 09:45 - Registration
- 10:00 to 11:00 - A netball clinic to expose players to different scenarios and corrective measures during a game
- 11:00 to 12:00 - Bio kineticist to do warm-ups and sport-specific development activities for players
- 12:00 to 13:00 - Skills development for players
13:00 to 14:00 - Display matches
