SURFING NEWS - The Western Cape Government, George Tourism, Rip Curl South Africa and Eden Surfriders hosted the second leg of the "Rip Curl GromSearch" contest at Victoria Bay last weekend.
It took place from Friday to Sunday, 10 to 12 March.
Top junior surfers from all around South Africa ranging from u.12 to u.18 boys and girls arrived at Victoria Bay to contest for the coveted trophy of Rip Curl Grom Champion.
The surfers were greeted by some challenging, yet very contestable, waves at the point at Victoria Bay.
Local surfers Kane Johnstone and Sophia Jackson managed to progress through to the semi-finals in their respective age groups, with Blake Crankshaw securing first place in a heavily contested final in the u.18 age group.
