MOSSEL BAY SPORT NEWS - For the first time in three years, the Two Oceans Marathon has been held.
It last took place in 2019. A stellar Nedbank running club team took on the classic ultra marathon, as well as the half marathon.
Locals from Mossel Bay who finished the half marathon of 21km were Alta Zeelie, Willie Pieterse and Ronel Pieterse. The Two Oceans is considered one of the toughest races.
"We were standing for three hours on Friday just to be part of one of the most amazing races in a queue to collect our race numbers and take part in the expo. The vibe was incredible and the effort put in was even more amazing," said Pieterse
The ultra marathon of 56km took place on Sunday, with the half marathon taking place on Easter Saturday. "Most of our top runners ran the Nedbank Runified Breaking Barriers 50km last month so we don't have the normal big squad here," said Nedbank running club national team manager Nick Bester.
