MOSSEL BAY NEWS AND VIDEO - The DHL Lifesaving SA Interprovincial Surf Championships started in rainy weather at Santos Beach, Mossel Bay, today.
A Mossel Bay Invitational Team, comprising mainly Eden, Western Cape and Eastern Cape lifesavers, is taking on Eastern Province and Western Province in the championships, so there are three contending teams.

There are six competitive provinces in lifesaving. Four chose not to participate for a single day event due to the cost; they will compete in a competition within a month and a further one within three weeks from that.

Mossel Bay lifesavers competing in the champs are:
Nipper boys: Kwezi Mini, Ziyane Windvogel and Warrick Numba.
Nipper girl: Jourdaine Moses.
Junior boys: Quewin Pieterse and Jonah Busch.
Open/Senior male: Rudi Boer.
The champs had a good start as Mossel Bay Nipper Kwezi Mini came second in the first event.
