SPORT NEWS - Wanru and Duné Haasbroek represented South Africa at the 2022 World Biathle and Triathle Championships in Madeira, Portugal, where they achieved impressive results.
The championship stretched over five days consisting of mixed relay team, individual and team events.
Wanru achieved a gold medal in the individual as well as mixed relay team triathle events for boys u.11. Duné came eighth and fifth for the u.13 girls individual and mixed relay team triathle events.
Wanru and Duné also received silver medals in the u.11 and u.13 triathle team events.
They managed to continue their extraordinary run of achievements during the biathle events. Wanru achieved a bronze for the u.11 boys individual, gold in the mixed relay and gold in biathle team events.
Duné placed fourth for the u.13 girls individual event and got silver in the u.13 girls biathle team event.
