MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Soon the town will be abuzz with visitors and competitors participating in the annual Mossel Bay Sports Festival.
This festival, started several years ago by the Mossel Bay Municipality to enhance a healthier lifestyle and to create economic opportunities for local businesses, will again host the crème de la crème of sports events including:
• The Point High KFC Schools U19 Cricket Week
• Women's Golf Tournament
• Boat race and Catamaran Championship
• Better Together Games
In addition, touch rugby, karate, soccer, darts, CrossFit, cricket, athletics, basketball, boxing, chess, surfing, tennis, model aeroplanes, the disabled games, sports and athletics and much, much more form part of the festival which starts on 22 September and culminates with the Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar Makietie on Saturday, 7 October.
A number highly popular music stars will be participating.
So, whether you feel up to some fun and fitness (join the Moss March over five kilometres) or you prefer to sit back and be entertained (do join the Makietie!), there will be something for everyone.
The Mossel Bay Sports Festival is arranged under the auspices of the Mossel Bay Municipality, although the individual sporting organisations arrange their own competitions and programmes for this week. It offers a feast of activities that no sports lover should miss.
