CHESS NEWS - After two weeks of tough competition, the Mossel Bay Chess Club took top honours at the Eden Union Chess League when they were crowned winners for the third year running.
The four-member team, consisting of Björn October (team captain), Thomas Jaars, Ralph Botha and Morné Matthee won the title after victories against George B (4-0), Riversdale A (4-0), George A (2½-1½, Oudtshoorn A (2½-1½), and Oudtshoorn B (3-1).
Team captain Björn October voiced his delight after a flawless display from his side.

The club reminds all chess players and the viewing public about the Mossel Bay Chess Open Tournament at the Garden Court Hotel from 29 to 30 September. It takes place during the Mossel Bay Sports Festival.
