WESTERN CAPE NEWS - The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) annually empowers sport federations in the Western Cape to support talent identification and development across the province.
Minister Anroux Marais invites all affiliated sport federations, associations and qualifying organisations to submit applications in respect of aid for administration, development, capacity building, transformation, major events and travel to international events for the 2022/23 financial year.
Marais said, "As we are currently faced with a global pandemic and already experienced a world without sport, a whole of society approach is an urgent necessity and our financial support to federations personifies this commitment.
"In so doing, the Western Cape Government and valued partners reaffirm our collaborative mandate to use sport and recreation as a means of social and personal development among all affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, its subsequent national lockdown regulations and the societal challenges that often place us at high risk."
To apply for funding, applicants need to comply with all the relevant documentation and can complete the online application form.
The closing date for applications is 30 September. Should you need further information, email dcasfundenquiries@westerncape.gov.za.
