Titleist first celebrated its position as the number one golf ball at the 1949 US Open at Medinah Country Club. When the world’s finest players tee off in the US Open at Chambers Bay Golf Club on 18 June, this will mark the 67th consecutive year that Titleist golf balls have been trusted by the overwhelming majority of the field of this Major.
Since the start of the 2015, Titleist golf balls have once again dominated the counts across worldwide professional tours. More than 8,500 players choose to play the Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, which is more than five times the nearest competitor with 1,532*.
It mirrors the statistics seen every year across all levels of the game, with golfers of all abilities - from leading amateurs to club professionals - trusting the quality and consistency of the number one ball in golf.
Having completed the clean sweep as the number one ball of choice at each of the four Majors in 2014, the count at this year’s US Open continues the overwhelming success of Titleist golf balls at Major Championships.
This included The Open Championship, where Titleist continued its record as the choice of the majority of the field since records began.
Titleist golf balls were not only the overwhelming favourite at the first Major in 2015, but also the choice of Masters champion Jordan Spieth, who trusted the feel and consistency of the New Pro V1x to seal his maiden Major victory.
