MOSSEL BAY GOLF NEWS - The Mossel Bay Golf Club lady golfers' annual Christmas mixed competition is a joyous occasion and we are always happy to welcome a number of our swallows to join in our fun days on our wonderful golf course.
This year it was obvious that four of our visitors had a great time too, as they walked away with the first prize, scoring a good 93 points in their alliance, with two best scores counting.
Well done to Sabine Schultz, Fritz Wulf, Michaela and John Collins. Second place, with 92 points, went to locals Annette Meyer, Gert Potgieter, Cynthia and André Zietsman.
Third were Pottie Potgieter, Diana van Staden, Stephen and Bronwyn Powell, who counted out Pieter Barnard, Nic Marais, Ina Swart and Leonie de Beer to fourth position, all with 90 points. Fifth place, with a good 89 points, went to Rosie Gerber, Catherine Bell, Rachel and Martiens Mulder.
Nearest the pins were won by Ina Swart (for a change!), Hennie Botha, Boesman Keyser and Ena Stipp.
Our new ladies' captain, Corné Marais, hit the longest drive on the ninth and André Fourie did likewise for the men on the ninth.
The rest of us also had a lot of fun on the course and enjoyed something to eat and drink after the game in a festive atmosphere.
Our thanks go to all who assisted with the event. A special thank you goes to our wonder girls, Jen and Barbs. They are always ready to sell our raffle tickets. Thank you also to our sponsors - Chas Everitt and Mossel Bay Superspar.
