MOSSEL BAY GOLF NEWS - A huge field of 132 players, mostly decked in various shades of red in celebration of St Valentine, descended on a most glorious day in our even better town, to play golf on one of the most spectacular and friendly golf course on the planet... what more could you wish for? No wonder the field was inundated with many visiting swallows who were treated to Mossel Bay Golf course at its finest.
A four ball alliance was the format of the day, with prizes galore and a lovely taste of Mossel Bay fish and salad for lunch after.
The four ball of Fritz Wulf, Sabine Schultz, Renny Rattle and Axel Schultz beat the rest of the field scoring 90 points and walked away with the first prizes. Counted out to second spot were Div and Hanlie de Villiers with their partners Herman and Greta Avoux, also with 90 points. Third prize went to Joe and Annemarie Luggen partnered with Cynthia and André Zietsman (89 points). Fourth was won by John and Michaela Collins playing with Colin and Pat Tanner (87 points), fifth place winners were Russel and Renee Hendry with Johan and Sandy Lampen (87) and on 86 points in sixth place were Frans and Bev Weitjers with Laetitia and Errol Higgs.
Who says partners cannot play good golf together... or is it only on Valentine’s day?
Nearest the pins were won by Greta Avoux, Marie Smith, Dieter Sauer and Karl Felberer.
Our huge thanks go to all the help and assistance given by our ‘eveready’ and able golf club and catering staff. A very special word of gratitude to our sponsors for the day.
