MOSSEL BAY GOLF NEWS - The Mossel Bay Golf Club's Ladies' medal and putting competition was held on Thursday in chilly and windy conditions, testing the competitors.
The competition is sponsored by Super Spar.
A number of stalwarts were absent due to accidents, operations, illnesses and travel, leaving a reduced field of 20 players vying for victory in three divisions.
Ina Swart rose above everyone with a brilliant 68 nett in the silver division. Second place went to Annette Pretorius with 78 nett.
The bronze division was won by Hettie Bruwer on 75 nett and Tertia Mitchell was second on 76 nett, counting out Catherine Bell. Taking first place in the copper division was on-form Shirley Greig with 72 nett and Magda Griesel was second on 75 nett.
The putting honours went to Rita Herold with 29 putts and nearest the pin on the 15th was Annette Pretorius.
A few players may be haunted by their lacklustre performance on the day and record multiple putts on a single hole.
But the ghosts of golf will hopefully leave them in peace ... until the next medal competition.
Grateful thanks to Super Spar for its generous sponsorship.
