MOSSEL BAY GOLF NEWS - I love the fact that when new players take up this game called golf, and that golf gogga bites, they become infected with great enthusiasm.
I have heard players saying they simply cannot get enough and how this game can be a life changer, especially when things start coming right and all the hard work and practice start paying dividends.
One such player in our club is newbie Bronwyn Powell, who has a serious dose of golf fever, and who on Thursday achieved her best ever score, breaking 100 and making an impressive 44 single stableford points. Needless to say, beating the field of 35 ladies by a hefty six points, her excitement was uncontainable.
Second, with a highly respectable 38 points, was golden oldie, Dawn Wessels, who keeps showing us that age is not a problem when it comes to this glorious game.
Third place went to Bev Weijters; she counted out Tertia Mitchell to fourth and Betsie Fourie to fifth, all on 37 points.
Nearest the pin also went to Bev and a two club was recorded by Gloria.
