The event was the annual 72 hole stroke play championships, which was hosted this year by Southern Cape, and Mossel Bay golf course was the chosen venue.
It is a huge event where 72 women from around the country compete in both a team challenge, as well as individually.
Mossel Bay certainly donned its best mantles in terms of good weather, friendly people and our superb golf course, which looked really great for the event.
The following day we played on really slick greens, designed to test tournament players' mettle, and some of our golfers obviously enjoyed this challenge.
Gail Botha's excellent 36 points won her first prize in the silver section; Annette Pretorius was second with 34 points.
The bronze section was a more closely fought affair, with Cynthia Zietsman managing to count out Marietjie Oosthuizen, both having achieved a very credible 35 points. Tertia Mitchell won nearest the pin and Linchen Wessels the only two club.
