MOSSEL BAY GOLF NEWS - A large turnout of Mossel Bay Golf Club players - dressed in red, white and green - participated in the year-end Christmas mixed event on Thursday, 3 December, hosted by the ladies' golf at the club.
It is always a festive occasion, not only for the golf, but the camaraderie, which has been difficult to appreciate this year.
The game was a four-ball alliance with two scores to count, which was a relaxed format, fit for the occasion.
Winners on the day were Shirley Greig, Rob Muller and Diana and Niekie van Staden, with a great 93 points. Shirley was on a lucky streak. Not only did her four-ball win the golf, but she also won the raffle, a large Christmas hamper full of delectable goodies just right for the season.
Second on a count-out were Bertu and Ilze Nel playing, with Liezel-Mari and Niel Guse scoring 90 points. Counted out also, with 90 points, were Chris Barnard, Colin Buck, Chris Smit and Mariana Dreyer. Fourth place went to Dawid Gerber, Gerald Glover, Joan Zietsman and Annette Meyer, with 87 points.
The 19th hole was beautifully festooned for the occasion, and all enjoyed a light meal and a few cold ones with friends.
