FOOTBALL NEWS - Itumeleng Khune managed a man of the match performance for Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup on Sunday despite a stomach upset, his coach Steve Komphela revealed after the 3-0 win over Lamontville Golden Arrows at Soccer City.
“He must earn his salary!” joked Komphela after the victory kept Chiefs on track for a record extending 14th success in the national cup competition.
“If you have a top quality keeper at the back, you have confidence to defend. Football is not a game where you’d be perfectly correct through 90 minutes and when you do commit an error it’s the one at the back (the goalkeeper) who makes the saves to keep you in the game. He (Khune) does that consistently.”
